This will allow the vehicles to operate on emissions-free battery power, reducing the amount of fuel utilized and significantly decreasing the release of harmful pollutants, including greenhouse gases. Plug-in hybrid vehicles can be plugged into the electric grid – such as a normal 120 volt household outlet - to boost mileage.

Continues promotion and development of hydrogen as long-term strategy. Hyundai Partnering with Korean battery companies for hybrids. Company says its focusing on gasoline and hydrogen. Blue Concept PHEV Van with diesel or hydrogen fuel cells and rooftop photovoltaic. No announced plans. Expects production around 2014.

The trouble is you then have to stop right away, which brings about some pretty strong regenerative braking action, something that Chrysler needs to work on before making the Circuit available for sale. As more renewables come online, battery electrics just keep getting cleaner and greener. But where does Hydrogen come from?

Postal Service Minivan - Click above for high-res gallery Chrysler is celebrating Earth Day today by unveiling the first four of what will be a fleet of 250 battery-powered minivans for the U.S. Postal Service. The USPS will be using the vans for a variety of duties at locations around the country – including daily home delivery.
