Audi’s principle of downsizing: “ Forced induction replaces displacement ” One twin-scroll turbocharger per cylinder bank compresses the fresh air. From each pair of cylinders, the exhaust ports lead separately to a manifold and the turbocharger housing; they are not combined until immediately ahead of the turbine.

Peak torque of 166 N·m (122 lb-ft) is available across a wide plateau from 1,800 rpm to 4,700 rpm, while maximum power is delivered at 5,200 rpm. liter class which are engineered to meet customer demand for strong, downsized engine performance. SIDI Turbo generates 30% more torque than Opel’s current 1.6-liter, liter engine.
