Continental has begun production of urea sensors for the first time to support more efficient exhaust-gas aftertreatment in diesel engines. Secondly, this data is required for the on-board diagnosis of the exhaust-gas aftertreatment function. Ultrasonic signals measure both the urea concentration in the water and the tank’s fill level.
