Consumer Reports has concluded its annual car reliability survey and the resulting data for 2023 has not been kind to all-electric vehicles. For 2023, CR reported that EVs had 79 percent more problems than automobiles that use internal combustion. SUVs, crossovers, and minivans were next.

The majority of the carbon and oil savings from current vehicles is due to new gasoline vehicle technologies, the report observed. The detailed data supporting the report were obtained directly from automobile manufacturers. Since 1975, half of car production has consistently been within several mpg of each other. Source: EPA.
