Zhejiang Geely Holding Group set a new export sales record in December with 11,000 cars being exported during the month, which also helped the company increase its export sales over the course of 2012 by 164%. Geely’s December 2012 sales were pulled forward by a strong showing from the Emgrand series of vehicles.

The move comes on the heels of AvtoVAZ-Renault-Nissan becoming the fourth largest manufacturer of automobiles worldwide following several successful moves by Rostec. While international sales declined in recent years, Russia was able to export more than 38,000 assembly kits to Egypt between 2002 and 2013.

ZAP and Jonway Group announced they had earlier signed definitive agreements according to which ZAP will acquire 51% of Zhejiang Jonway Automobile Co.
