The first buyers will be fleet users, which will build central fast-charging facilities. Wang entered the automobile business in 2003 by buying a Chinese state-owned car company that was all but defunct. BYD currently exports gasoline-powered cars to Africa, South America, and the Middle East, but they compete on price, not quality.
