On 15 Sep, NHTSA and the US EPA proposed a joint rulemaking on fuel economy and greenhouse gas emissions for light duty vehicles: an average new car 34.1 The 250 g/mile of CO 2 equivalent emissions limit by EPA is equivalent to 35.5 Turbocharging and downsizing: 26% for cars, 15% for trucks.
