After launching its most affordable EV, the EX30, last year, Volvo’s compact electric SUV is already making a significant impact on the company. Volvo set a new sales record in the first three months of the year with growing demand for its electric models. Fully electric vehicles accounted for over 40% of sales in 19 markets.

Although Volvo’s Recharge model sales (EV and PHEV) fell 3% to 19,171, fully electric vehicles continued to see higher demand. The growth was propelled by its EV sales, which were up 17%, with 9,226 electric Volvo models handed over last month. Volvo is committed to an all-electric lineup by 2030.

Volvo reached its highest-ever share of electrified vehicles as its new fully electric EX30 boosted EV sales in February. Although overall sales slid 2% last month, Volvo’s fully electric vehicle sales were up 14%, reaching a new record share. Fully electric cars also set a new record.
