This practice in which a vessel at berth connects to a source of electricity on the shore is called “cold-ironing”, shore power or Alternative Maritime Power (AMP). Although there are exceptions, auto/RoRo carriers typically are also not frequent visitors so it is likely they would not make commercially-successful applications either.
