The Passat GTE leverages the Volkswagen Group’s MQB-based plug-in hybrid powertrain, also seen in the VW Golf GTE and the Audi A3 e-tron. The MQB-based Passat GTE accelerates to 62 mph (100 km/h) in less than 8.0 seconds and achieves a top speed of more than 136 mph (219 km/h); in “E-Mode,” 80 mph (129 km/h).
