Nissan provided a list of the top 15 markets in the US for the Nissan LEAF battery-electric vehicle. Atlanta, a “New Wave” EV market that has nabbed the Nº 3 spot due to a number of factors including congestion where LEAF performs well, state incentives and HOV and HOT access. The project will deploy 554 alternative fuel and hybrid electric vehicles and install 153 alternative fueling and electric vehicle charging stations throughout the Chicago region. The initiative also includes garbage trucks, also known as refuse collection vehicles. Total DOE award: $14,999,927.
