Praxair will complete an initial engineering design study for a Linde-BASF CO 2 capture system at a commercial steam methane reforming (SMR) hydrogen plant in Convent, LA. ION Clean Energy Inc. The University of Akron in collaboration with Aspen Aerogels, Inc., The plant will be one of the largest of its kind in the world.

A new report from the US Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) concludes that gasoline produced via the methanol-to-gasoline (MTG) route ( earlier post ) using syngas from a 2,000 dry metric tonne/day (2,205 US ton/day) biomass-fed facility could have a plant gate price (PGP) of $1.95/gallon Source: NREL.
