UAW strikes entered their fourth week on Friday, and the union held off on escalating worker walkouts for a third week in a row as new and unexpected concessions were made by General Motors (GM) this week, according to a report from Reuters. “GM has agreed to lay the foundation for a just transition [to EVs],” Fain added.

In its largest single plant investment in the US this year, General Motors announced $1.4 billion for a range of improvements to its Arlington Assembly Plant to more competitively produce high-quality full-size SUVs. The new investment is a part of the $5.4 billion of that has come since the 2011 UAW-GM National Agreement.
