The police department in New York City won’t be softening their stance on crime - but they will be softening their impact on the environment. Police Commissioner Raymond W Kelly and Mayor Michael Bloomberg have announced that the department is going green by sending hybrid police vehicles out on patrol.

The PROLOGUE puts the internal combustion engine up front and runs on diesel, while the RC uses petrol with the electric motor going at the back. Similar to the Chevy Volt concept, the RC can run solely on electric power for extended periods with a hybrid powertrain providing extra range when needed.
