Change in Adjusted fuel economy, weight, and horsepower for MY 1975-2013. Vehicle weight trend is flat and increasing vehicle power trend is slowing. Beginning in MY 2005, technology has been used to increase both fuel economy (which has reduced CO 2 emissions) and power, while keeping vehicle weight relatively constant.
