In April, Axion Power International Inc received an order from Norfolk Southern Corp (NS) for PbC lead-carbon batteries for use in an all-battery-powered switcher locomotive. PbC batteries are multi-celled asymmetrically supercapacitive lead-acid-carbon hybrid batteries.
