As an automotive journalist I do this frequently with the cars I am reviewing as I like to hear real world experiences from people who have put on thousands of miles under different driving and road conditions. The EPA has rated the 2024 Maverick Hybrid fuel economy at 42 mpg city/33 highway and 37 combined.

The EPA has rated fuel economy at 23 mpg city/30 highway/26 combined. Over 245 miles driving through Southern California we averaged 27.1 Our best all-highway number, on a 135-mile run with the cruise control set to 65 mph, was 32.1 Powertrain – Five years/60,000 miles. Fuel Economy King in a Not-So-Small Pickup. This compact pickup is smaller than the mid- and full-size trucks roaming our streets, but size alone doesn’t explain how it sips fuel. Like most people, I tend to drive less than 30 miles a day, so I won’t run out of charge. What I do need is an affordable alternative to Lead Acid. I charge my EV for 8 hours when I get to work, and then again overnight when I get home. About 15 amps from a 110v outlet is adequate. is a Green Options Media Production.
