Researchers were able to track that data via a network of sensors around the Bay Area that monitor both CO2 and five critical air pollutants: carbon monoxide, nitrous oxides (NO and NO 2 ), ozone, and particulates (PM 2.5). According to the research, by comparing the air pollution and CO2 data, the sensors help determine the emission source.
