Alstom to test its hydrogen fuel cell train in the Netherlands; first pilot project outside Germany

The Coradia iLint is powered by a hydrogen fuel cell, which produces electrical power for traction. The train is quiet and emission-free, emitting only water and steam during operation. The world’s first two hydrogen trains have already been in regular passenger service in Lower Saxony in Germany since September 2018.

Blue World Technologies starting production of methanol fuel cells

Methanol reforming is a relatively simple process that converts a mix of methanol and water into a hydrogen-rich gas. CO 2 + 3 H 2 The hydrogen produced is subsequently used in the fuel cell to produce electricity. In a generic system that would mean using primary fuel, leading to lower efficiency.
