Waste Management. For Class 8 heavy-duty vehicles, U.S. EPA’s “Phase I” GHG standard will reduce new vehicle emissions by about 4–5% per year from 2014–2018. Significant, ongoing vehicle efficiencies can be achieved in Class 3–Class 7 trucks as well, and will be partly enabled by improvements in light-duty vehicles.
