For extended range I guess one could carry a fairly modest generator set in the trunk to avoid ever being stranded. Of course, EVs that arent designed for battery swaps wont use it, and plug-in hybrids wont need it. for 2012 Featured stories Feed Greenlings: What is regenerative braking? not an issue.
