The combined global land and ocean surface temperature was the second warmest September on record, according to NOAA’s National Climatic Data Center in Asheville, NC. Global surface temperature anomalies (degrees F) for the month of September 2009. This was the third largest September extent on record, behind 2006 and 2007.
