IHS Markit: average age of cars and light trucks in US rises again in 2019 to 11.8 years

From 2002-2007, the average age of light vehicles in the US increased by 3.5%. The 40 percent drop in new vehicle sales due to the recession created an acceleration in average age like we’ve never seen before. The youngest average age is in Vermont, where the average age of light vehicles is 9.9 million (2.2%) since 2018.
