Tokyo Electric Power Licenses Aker Wade to Build Level III Fast Chargers

Aker Wade Power Technologies has entered into a licensing agreement with Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) to manufacture and market Level III DC fast chargers for electric vehicles. Max DC output Voltage: 500V. JARI Level 3 DC Connector. Since 2006 it has tested more than 300 battery powered cars in the greater Tokyo area.

Powered by the latest Lithium-Ion batteries and a 120kw electric motor, the Smith Newton has a top speed of 50mph (80km) and a range in excess of 100 miles (160km) on a full charge. It can be recharged in six hours.
