Where it used to be Hertz or Avis–or a taxi–the choices now are much more complex. Uber’s value proposition is that it is cheaper than using a taxi and much cheaper than using a personal car. Investors in RelayRides included Google Ventures and GM Ventures. I expect Zipcar to soon have over one million members.
