Under the Proalcool Program, sugar companies were ordered to increase production and the state-run oil company, Petrobras, was required to make álcool (ethanol) available at its fuel stations.

Mercedes-Benz presented the new B-Class F-CELL, its first (limited) series production fuel-cell powered electric vehicle available in the US ( earlier post ), at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Selected customers will take delivery of the first lease vehicles before the end of 2010.
