The journey to Mauritania also attracted me because it went through Southern Spain and Morocco, where I had never been before. Up to halfway through Morocco, I could travel by train, then mainly buses and minivans. Three hours later, I was in the City of Lights, on my way to Gare de Lyon for a layover.
