In March, Nissan announced a similar partnership with ECOtality and the Pima Association of Governments, in the Tucson, Ariz., ECOtality plans to link the Phoenix and Tucson Metro areas by implementing strategic fast-charge stations along Interstate 10 (I-10) to create the first implementation of an EV Corridor in North America.

Having already established working relationships in Tennessee; Oregon; Phoenix and Tucson Arizona; as well as Sonoma County and San Diego in California; the Renault-Nissan Alliance will now be working with Seattle to add recharging stations for electric vehicles.

As part of the agreement, Nissan and its partners will develop plans to promote a charging infrastructure for EVs, as well as the deployment, operation and maintenance of a charging network. Nissan also has agreed to make available a supply of EVs to Progress Energy. and Seattle.
