It took me 17 days to reach the United Arab Emirates, and my route went through fascinating places like the Kurdish region of Iraq, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia. Three hours later, I was in the City of Lights, on my way to Gare de Lyon for a layover. It’s legal to ride this train, it’s also free.
