Three plug-in hybrid-electric Chrysler Town & Country minivans ( earlier post ) went into service with the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD), bringing to 25 the total number of such vehicles on US roads. Components of the flex-fuel PHEV minivan. Other deployments are in Arizona, North Carolina and Michigan.

Postal Service with a fleet of 250 all-electric Chrysler Town & Country minivans in Michigan, North Carolina and the New York City area beginning later this year. Chevrolet next year will introduce the Volt, a plug-in hybrid electric car. The hybrid is probably the best option. 16,000 miles. No gasoline.
