President Barack Obama, along with Vice President Joe Biden and Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood, released a strategic vision and plan for a high-speed passenger rail (HSR) system in the US. By late summer, the Federal Railroad Administration will begin awarding the first round of grants. The envisioned high-speed rail corridors.
