From the sale of the first RX 400h in 2005 through to the end of November this year, Lexus has sold more than 506,000 of its hybrid vehicles. In 2005, 26,000 Lexus hybrids were sold; by 30 November this year the annual total was at 113,000. Today, hybrids account for about 25% of all Lexus sales. Global total. %

Annual global sales of TMC hybrids. Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) has cumulatively sold more than 2 million hybrid vehicles since the launch in 1997 in Japan of the Coaster Hybrid EV in August and the Prius in December. On May 31, 2007, the global cumulative sales of TMC’s hybrid vehicles had topped 1 million.

Hybrids don’t have to be luxury vehicles. As an example, the UCS “Hybrid Scorecard” gives both the 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid and 2009 Honda Civic Hybrid a high “hybrid value” rating. But both models come with forced features that cost nearly as much as their hybrid drivetrains.

Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) has announced it is to begin a new recall of vehicles including some models of a Lexus hybrid. The car giant says that around 11,500 vehicles are affected globally by the recall of some of its hybrid Lexus LS 600h model and some of its LS 460 models, to fix a steering [.].

Total combined Toyota and Lexus hybrid vehicle sales in the US have topped the one million mark, according to Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), USA. Overall, cumulative worldwide sales of Toyota and Lexus hybrids have exceeded 1.7 In April 2005, Lexus introduced the crossover RX 400h, the world’s first hybrid-powered luxury vehicle.
