The Corolla Cross, launched in 2021 with a gasoline engine, will be joined in 2023 by the compact crossover Corolla Cross Hybrid, one more gasoline-electric hybrid offering from Toyota. Fuel economy numbers have not been announced, but the same gasoline-hybrid power plant in the Toyota Tundra pickup gets 20 mpg city/24 highway/22 combined. The I-Force Max engine was smooth and powerful with the instant torque from the electric motor. An engine now augmented by electric drive.

The 2023 BZ4X small SUV is the first-ever mass production all-electric vehicle from Toyota. This concept of emission-free mobility is coming from many auto manufacturers as they move away from gasoline-only propulsion.
