Lifecycle study finds that environmental impacts of silicon-anode Li-ion battery could be roughly comparable with conventional Li-ion battery

The LCA was based on the average US driving and electricity supply conditions. For the study, the UW-Milwaukee team selected the metal-assisted chemical etching method for the SiNW synthesis due to its simplicity, low cost, and scalable advantages. The study is published in the ACS journal Environmental Science & Technology.
