In the familiar gasoline engines of the previous EA111 series, the (‘hot’) exhaust side was at the front, and the engines were mounted with a forward tilt. The advantage is that the exhaust line, driveshafts and gearbox mounting position can be standardized. At the same time, it is now tilted towards the rear.
