Within the SpeedStart design water-cooled power and control electronics are housed within the rear of the machine to reduce cost, improve control response times and minimise losses in the power electronics. The exhaust gas can reach temperatures greater than 900 °C, whereas the turbine upper functional limit is 850 °C.
