Until then, we can always program the ESS to make what Lotus refers to as "more futuristic sounds for electric vehicles [that] can be created using sampled sounds and generated waveforms." Nonetheless, I do agree that it wastes of energy, reduces range and should NOT be mandatory. I know this and I speak for them. because I am one.
