Mitsubishi Motors Australia CEO Shaun Westcott told automotive media last week at a preview of the new-generation diesel-powered Triton ute that renewable power generation, such as solar, was critical to EVs making sense. It has since switched its attention to PHEVs led by the top-selling Outlander SUV , as well as the smaller Eclipse Cross.

China’s JAC plans Aussie push with EV ute benchmarked against Rivian R1T

To be distributed in Australia by independent BLK Auto, JAC has already commenced sales here with the N55EV electric van and will follow with the turbo diesel T9 Hunter dual cab ute in mid-2023. Pricing is one variable that is not comparable as that is a long way from being announced by BLK Auto for the T9 EV. 2023 JAC JS6 SUV.
