The crane is powered by a 11 liter Volvo engine, which is imported from France. The flywheel is downsized to give a continuum between shift of gears, else unlike a ICE engine, when you take your leg off the pedal, the motor goes zero torque when you are re-engaging gears. The motor is a 4 kW brush DC motor.
