I have also seen people advertising EVs on eBay who claim 100 mile range from a one hour charge using a standard 110V outlet. Going back to our formula we will first need to convert our kilowatt value to watts so we have 10,800 * 1000 = 10,800,000 watts needed from the source.

Standardization of battery shape and chemistry is another consideration that gives one pause. Also, until standardization of connectors becomes fully implemented, EV owners may have to carry an assortment of adapters to be able to plug in to chargers from different suppliers. One of the main drawbacks to charge stations is speed.
