Like the Recovery Act-funded projects, the annual Clean Cities projects include grants for vehicles, infrastructure, and education. The project will convert local landfill gas (LFG), a renewable fuel source, to compressed natural gas and develop five CNG fueling stations throughout the metro-Atlanta area. Total DOE award: $14,994,183.

We could take an Oslo taxi and charge it in a bus terminal in Wenatchee, Washington or vice versa. In our Gothenburg and Oslo taxi projects, the chargers are at the taxi stands. They’re converting to new technology. It’s in the pavement at a bus stop in the middle of a residential neighborhood. John Holland: Yes.

In addition, the grid could ask for energy back from the batteries of a PHEV if the house or neighborhood need is at a high level for a short time.
