In May, the US Department of Energy (DOE) awarded a $150,000 Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase I grant to Axion Power to fund a commercialization plan for the use of its PbC batteries in a low-cost, high-efficiency dual battery architecture for micro-hybrid (i.e., Micro-hybrid testing against VRLA.
