Toyota introduces 2012 Prius Plug-in Hybrid

Toyota’s goal was to reduce the cost, weight and volume of the pack from the NiMH system used earlier. In place of a spare tire, the Prius Plug-in carries a tire-sealing kit and inflator. Changes include: Completely new battery design. there is no cargo penalty for plug-in capability. Vehicle deliveries begin in Spring 2012.
