The concept ensures long term energy storage for delivering short bursts of power to the VTES supercharger during vehicle accelerations and to the SpeedStart stop-start device during engine re-starts. Conversely, short bursts of power can also be absorbed by the SpeedStart generator to recharge the battery during vehicle decelerations.
