Swiss company outlines methanol-to-gasoline option for Alaska North Slope gas to state legislature

Under van Wijk’s concept, a plant would produce methanol from natural gas on the North Slope using the proposed GigaMethanol technology. Costs for a 63,000 barrel (of gasoline) per day system would be approximately $5.2 Two-step methanol and synthesis in water- and gas-cooled reactors operating along the optimum extraction route.
