In December, BEVs ran fast (168.912 units, +223% YoY), but PHEVs are were even faster (+347%, 112,260 units), so in the final 2020 numbers, while plugin hybrids ended below (46% vs 54% share) fully electrics, they recovered a massive 10% share regarding the previous year. Last month Best Seller was the VW ID.3, Something to repeat in 2021?

While BEVs were a hot item last month, jumping 81%, to a record 407.000 units, PHEVs were even hooter, shooting 205% in December, allowing them to end the year with 31% of plugin sales, up 5% from the 26% of 2019, giving credit to those that say that PHEVs will still be around for a while. But more on that later.

There is significant cause vs. effect debate on CO2. The problem for the left is that NG is still a carbon based fuel (note: you are a carbon based lifeform and exhale 12 liters of CO2 a minute.). Glad to see the variety & availability of electic commuter cars (vs hybrids & PHEV) is rising. We have oil!
