At the Milan International Cycle and Motorbike Show, the company unveiled a three-wheel drive hybrid scooter concept known as the Hybrid3 Evolution. It delivers 49bhp of power and has fuel consumption at 118mpg while emitting just 48g/km of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the combined cycle.

Though occasionally derided here in the UK, scooters retain vast appeal throughout Europe where the Piaggio Group has now introduced the MP3 Hybrid, a plug-in hybrid version of its MP3 three-wheeled scooter. The vehicle is capable of running on electric power alone and is easily charged from the mains with a normal electric cable.
