Most EV owners recharge their cars at home or at work, meaning that chargers need to be available in garages, driveways, on-street parking, apartment building parking areas, and commercial parking lots. Promoting mixed-use neighborhoods—areas that put work and residence in proximity—would allow more bicycling and walking.
