Plug-in 2008 in San Jose, California witnessed a noon-time address by new heavy-weight convert, Andy Grove, former CEO of Intel. Once again, a conference on plug-in cars. Coming on the heels of the Google/Brookings event in Washington, D.C., I wish I knew what’s holding Gore back from full-throated support for plug-in cars.

What changes do we make to convert a gasoline-only hybrid to a Plug-In Hybrid? The generator portion of the system can then be downsized, modular, removable, and easily able to utilize any one of a number of technologies such as ICE, Micro Turbine, Stirling, to perhaps even FuelCell and Mr. Fusion.
