Product gas is cleaned in a scrubber. That plant was built in partnership with the US Department of Energy, Battelle Columbus Laboratory and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). The catalyst and wax are collectively referred to as slurry. Sand is reheated in the combustor by adding air and burning the residual char.
